Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance

Continuous Improvement

Continuous improvement (CI) is an ongoing effort to improve processes, products, services, or systems in order to better meet the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders.

It is an iterative process that uses data, feedback, and experimentation to identify areas for improvement and to make incremental changes over time.

The goal of continuous improvement is to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction, and to reduce errors, waste, and inefficiencies.

It is often associated with the Total Quality Management (TQM) and Lean Thinking methodologies, which emphasizes the importance of involving all employees in the improvement process and creating a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance (QA) is the process of verifying that a product, service, or process meets a set of quality standards and requirements.

It is a systematic approach to ensuring that all aspects of a product or service are functioning as intended and meet the needs of customers and stakeholders.

This can include activities such as testing, inspections, audits, and reviews.

QA is different from Quality Control (QC) which focuses on the detection and prevention of defects in the final product or service.

QA aims to prevent defects from occurring in the first place through the establishment of standards, procedures and guidelines.

The goal of QA is to improve the overall quality of products or services, increase customer satisfaction and reduce errors, waste, and rework.
